Eddie Jordan is an Irish motorsport entrepreneur and former F1 team owner and founder of Jordan Grand Prix, a successful Formula 1 team that operated from 1991 to 2005. His team helped launch the careers of notable drivers, including Michael Schumacher and Rubens Barrichello. After selling Jordan Grand Prix in 2005, Eddie transitioned to media, becoming a popular F1 commentator and pundit.

Thanks to Jordan's years-long experience and deep insight into the sport, he definitely knows what he is talking about. On the Formula for Success podcast, which he hosts with another F1 royalty David Coulthard, they spoke about Max Verstappen and Jordan is certain, that the reigning champion is the best current driver on the grid.

“[Verstappen] is without any doubt the best driver in Formula 1, in my opinion, at this moment,” said Jordan.

“We were all criticizing Perez, but maybe it’s Perez with that car. That’s just the speed of the car and what Max does, is what only Max can do.

“To finish as fifth and fourth and sixth or whatever, it must be really tough for him at this stage,” he added.

Jordan and Coulthard have already discussed Verstappen many times before, with Jordan being very certain about the Dutchman’s qualities.

"For me, I really do believe in time, he will turn out to be the greatest driver of all time, subject to him being safe and well for a very long time," said Jordan on his podcast.

"Because he has such a phenomenal attitude in the car. He's aggressive when he needs to be aggressive. He's tough when he needs to be tough. But he's clever as well. He knows how to look after the car."

In another episode, Jordan also compared Verstappen to other big names in Formula 1 history.

"I honestly believe hand-on-heart, that if you could get [Ayrton] Senna, [Michael] Schumacher, and Max [Verstappen] in the same cars, in the same race, in a given moment, I think Max would edge it,” said Jordan confidently.
 

Max Verstappen finished only P7 at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza last weekend due to issues that the current RB20 is only bundeling up. Red Bull is working hard to fix the problems so the team and the Dutchman would be able to fight back again in the battle for both Constructor's and Driver's Championship titles.
